Darryl Gibbs For Colorado

About Darryl

To all fellow residents of our great state,

As someone who has dedicated their life to service, both in the Air Force and the trucking industry, I understand the real-world challenges that touch every facet of our lives—challenges like inflation, the escalating cost of living, and the ongoing struggle for affordable housing. My 40 years in trucking and over a decade and a half in military service have equipped me with the skills to make pragmatic decisions that are not only timely but are also infused with the discipline and integrity our state deserves.

Today, more than ever, we need policies that address the urgent needs of all citizens, irrespective of their political stance. This means taking decisive action to stabilize and reduce living costs, ensuring every family can afford a decent home, secure enough food, and live in a community where safety is not a privilege but a given.

I am not a career politician. I am a veteran, a trucker, a business owner, a parent, and a concerned citizen of Colorado. I have watched our beloved state face challenges due to shortsighted policies and am no longer content to be a passive observer. It's time for practicality, it's time for unity, and it's time for common-sense solutions that reflect our values and meet our diverse needs.

Together, we can rebuild a vibrant state not just for us, but for our children and the generations to come. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work. Will you join me in this crucial endeavor?

Thank you,

Darryl

Discover More About Darryl

Rooted in the rich heritage of Illinois and Louisiana, my family’s journey brought me to Colorado in 1995—a place that quickly felt like home, prompting me to stay. My life has been shaped by resilience and integrity, values that have been passed down through generations.

My grandmother was the epitome of determination and toughness. With 25 children, her life was a testament to perseverance, working from cleaning houses to picking cotton, and always with a .38 in her purse for protection. She lived a long and impactful life until the age of 104. My mother continued this legacy of strength. A veteran of the Women's Army Corps and a tireless worker, she supported us as a single mother with unwavering dedication, ensuring our safety and well-being.

My own path has been diverse and enriching. Serving as a C-130 Crew Chief in the Air Force Reserves for nearly two decades and previously with the Denver Police Department, I’ve also taken the helm of my trucking business as an owner/operator. This blend of experiences has honed my ability to remain level-headed and composed under pressure, skills I bring to every aspect of my life, ensuring I can address issues effectively and reach sound resolutions.

My campaign is built on three pillars:

- Common Sense:

In a world where rationality often seems absent, I advocate for decisions driven by straightforward, logical thinking.

- I Work for You:

It’s vital to remember that public servants are accountable to the citizens. I am here to serve you, not the other way around.

- Staying in Touch:

I’m committed to being a hands-on leader who stays connected with the community, understanding and addressing your needs firsthand.

I proudly stand for our flag and the National Anthem and hold deep reverence for all citizens across Colorado.

Yet, in moments of reflection, I kneel only to my faith.

Together, let's embrace common sense, accountability, and connectivity to steer Colorado toward a prosperous future.
